More than 30 years The Bisserov Sisters are traveling and performing all around Bulgaria and all around the World, and have become renowned as representatives of authentic folklore, representatives of a living tradition.
Gifted with fine voices and musical memory, they adopt a lot of songs from their mother and grandmother as well as from the square folk dances working-bees and wedding parties, from the spring feasts like St. Lazar’s Day, Easter, St. George’s Day, at harvest time, hoeing , etc.
Taking the road of concertized group, The Bisserov Sisters include also in their repertoire songs from the all region of Pirin (south Bulgaria) as well as songs and dances from different folk regions of Bulgaria. They accompany their songs using instruments typical for their region such as tarabuka - Lyubimka, tambura -Mitra, tambourine - Neda.
The repertoire of The Bisserov Sisters includes the most typical features of the musical folklore dialect of the Pirin region. The combination of sounds peculiar of the primitive diaphony , the rich and versatile metro-rhythm , the expressive performing style.
Members of the band are also Kostadin Atanasov playing gajda (bagpipe), he is also a soloist at the National Folk Ensemble “Philip Koutev” and Biser Sokolov playing gadulka, who is is alsoa soloist at the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra..
